Baby's First Christmas Eve Box

what to put in christmas eve box for baby

Christmas Eve boxes are a fairly new craze in the UK but I love the idea of them. I know most people will probably think a Christmas Eve Box for a baby is a little pointless but it's a tradition we want to do every year so why not start with baby's first Christmas? I have to admit, it wasn't easy deciding what to include in ours but I think we managed to include some lovely bits..

Wooden Christmas Eve Box

We picked up this beautiful box from Dust and Things - there are a number of different boxes to choose from but I really loved the 'Twas the night before Christmas' design on this. We also had it engraved on the bottom with little mans name to add that personalised touch. The quality of this is lovely, and the wood feels really solid so hopefully it will last years. It was a little smaller than I imagined but we did manage to get a good amount of stuff inside it; here's what we included in Baby's First Christmas Eve Box.

Paints - I'm hoping Christmas Eve will become a traditional creative day for us where we will either do some crafts or baking. This year we're going to spend Christmas Eve making some cute Babies First Christmas craft pictures. We've included red, white, green and some glitter paints to make them extra festive. We picked up loads of ideas on Pinterest - let's hope they go well!

PJ'S - New pyjamas are an absolute essential for Christmas, right?! We grabbed this super cute Tartan all in one from Next. We've got a huge array of various Christmas clothing, but as Tartan is a traditional Christmas print we had to pop this in.

Books - My sister sent down a few Christmas books, one of which was 'Twas The Night Before Christmas' so I thought it would be perfect to add to our box - I loved the story as a child! We will also read the final book from our book advent at bedtime.

Christmas Socks - Because who doesn't love fluffy socks, especially tiny baby ones with Reindeers on!

DVD - I wanted to include a family film for us all to snuggle up to. We decided to go for Polar Express -  I'm sure it will soon become a family favourite.

We also included a letter from Father Christmas, some Reindeer Food for us to sprinkle on the lawn and Santa's Magic Key which will pop by our front door alongside some carrots, milk and a mince pie! Are you doing a Christmas Eve Box?

  1. What a cute box idea! I'm currently expecting my first child and even though he's due December 10th - I still want to have a small Christmas. In my family, we always got pajamas on Christmas Eve, a tradition my mom still keeps up so I'm thinking of doing a little pair of pjs and maybe a Christmas book to read on Christmas Eve.
