Dancing Paddington Review & Giveaway

Paddington Bear is one of those iconic characters that instantly takes you back to your childhood. I loved Paddington as a child, and I love it even more that Little gets to experience something that I got to at his age too. If like me, you enjoyed the 2014 film Paddington, then you'll be pleased to know that Paddington 2 is released in cinemas on 10th November. YAY.  As if we weren't eagerly awaiting the release already, we've been sent our very own Dancing Paddington to test out..

Dancing Paddington is super soft, cute and despite the fact he's a rigid, free standing toy, he's actually rather cuddly. Paddington is sporting a funky Hawaiian shirt, you'd barely recognise him if it wasn't for his traditional red hat. But don't worry, Rainbow Designs haven't forgotten his blue duffel coat, simply reverse the shirt and you'll see the famous Paddington outfit we all know and love.

My little one loves music, and Dancing Paddington wasn't one to disappoint; with a little press of his left paw, Paddington starts dancing to his Calypso Beat. No matter how many times you press that paw, little finds it just as funny and loves dancing alongside Paddington.

Paddington also says five phrases if you press his right paw, little is too young to understand the 'Marmalade sandwich' reference, but always cracks his cheeky smile when he hears Paddington's soft voice.

There is nothing worse than your child repeatedly pressing noisy toys at 6AM so from a parents point of view, I like that Paddington isn't garishly loud like other toys. I can deal with his, actually quite endearing voice, at stupid o clock without wanting to sellotape my ears shut.

Paddington requires 3AA batteries, these are included but when the time comes to replace you just need to unscrew his feet with a screwdriver and change the batteries.

You can buy Dancing Paddington from Argos for £29.99, which I do think is a little steep for a toy that is rather restricted when it comes to play. For this price, I'd prefer a few more tunes and something that makes him a little more interactive. However, the toy is really well made, and the quality is very good. The joy he brings little is lovely to watch, its clear to see he adores Paddington already, so overall - I think he'd make a great toy for any Paddington fan.
